Nate Miles, the 6-foot-7 forward who was supposed to play a major role for the UConn Huskies this season has resurfaced.
Miles started classes and will play for the College of Southern Idaho, a community college in Twin Falls, ID with one of top basketball programs in the nation.
Miles, 20, was kicked out of the University of Connecticut earlier this month for an alleged assault on a female student and for violating a restraining order, which has since been dismissed.

Miles, 20, was kicked out of the University of Connecticut earlier this month for an alleged assault on a female student and for violating a restraining order, which has since been dismissed.

According to the Hartford Courant, “Miles is likely to attempt to clear his name and re-enroll at UConn for the fall semester of 2009. ‘We looked into Nate’s situation and saw an opportunity for him to play for us in the second semester,’ coach Steve Gosar told espn.com. ‘Nate really wants to play this year. He said if an opportunity was there for him to play, that’s what he wanted. We have an open scholarship.’”

However, Miles won’t play his first game until Feb. 6. That’s because junior college rules require that he serve a 16-week probationary period.

Freshman Nate Miles formally from the University of Connecticut, who was expected to play a key role for the Huskies this season was expelled for an alleged assault on a female student.
Miles is being accused of becoming physical and trying to pressure the alleged victim into sex.
What make this story amazing is that the 20-year-old, 6-foot-6 swingman from Toledo, OH was issued a restraining order on Sept. 22 and violated it 16 minutes later by placing a call to the alleged victim!

According to a story by Mike Anthony in the Hartford Courant, “At Superior Court in Rockville Tuesday, Miles answered felony charges of violating a restraining order and was referred to the court’s family relations staff for counseling. That could lead to the criminal case being dropped if he does not get into further trouble.

“But the UConn administrative board, which generally consists of one or two hearing officers who are university officials, found that Miles’ alleged transgressions warranted expulsion.”

UConn coach Jim Calhoun and the athletic department could not be reached for comment due to the school’s privacy policy.

This is an unfortunate story for everyone involved. Reports are that Miles had an unstable upbringing, attended five high schools and was in and out of trouble. But yet he was talented enough to get a free ride to UConn.

But a troubled childhood is not an excuse for anyone to force themselves on a woman.

So far, no charged have been filed in the alleged abuse case, which will be continued on Nov. 25.

Miles has been banned from campus and has moved out of the dorms. He will live with his mother, who he as had a limited relationship with in Toledo. This comes just 70 days after Miles enrolled at UConn.
