So we’re just about a month away from the season premiere of one of the best television shows. Yes, the fall season schedule starts up soon, so there are many to choose from, but I’m talking about HBO’s “Entourage.” That’s right – the show where Vince, Eric, Turtle, and Drama live the Hollywood lifestyle while Vince’s superagent, Ari, stirs the pot.

Well it just so happens that in the upcoming season 5 (which begins airing on September 7) that PGA Tour pro Phil Mickelson will be making a guest appearance. We’ve learned that Mickelson and Johnny Drama will square off on the links, which promises to be a great episode. Drama has been known for making a fool of himself in front of other athletes (see Chuck Liddell and Lamar Odom) in previous seasons.

Mickelson is a self-professed fan of the show and Jeremy Piven (who plays Ari).

Though Mickelson hasn’t done any acting since taking on a role in Tin Cup (1996 – starring Kevin Costner), this show allows athletes and other celebrities just to be themselves. And being in an episode where you happen to be going up against Drama – well – he’ll take care of the rest. Since Kevin Dillon (Drama) is a regular golfer in real life, it could be interesting to see how this head-to-head plays out.

Phil Mickelson on Entourage

Of course, the Dallas Cowboys means Tony Romo. And we all know that for the past few months, Tony Romo means Jessica Simpson. And Jessica Simpson on film means *cues dramatic music* straight to DVD.

Is it a risk the team is willing to take? Or will the busty blonde be banned from the set like Kim Kardashian should be from reality shows, the red carpet, and the history of naughty tapes?

Time will tell.
