Last week we mentioned that Victoria Beckham turned 34. We posed 10 questions, one of which involved our curiosity as to whether the erstwhile Posh Spice smiled on her birthday. To that we can’t attest one way or the other, but we can certainly see by Exhibit A here that grins still aren’t a priority for David Beckham’s bustier half, seen here shopping yesterday:

We didn’t get invited to the birthday party (that’s 34 straight snubs, in case you were wondering), but MSN Hot Gossip’s rundown of the celebratory and celebrity-filled shindig reads like a Who’s Who in Hollywood: [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

We posed 10 questions, one of which involved our curiosity as to whether the erstwhile Posh Spice smiled on her birthday. To that we can’t attest one way or the other, but we can certainly see by Exhibit A here that grins still aren’t a priority for David Beckham’s bustier half, seen here shopping yesterday:

We didn’t get invited to the birthday party (that’s 34 straight snubs, in case you were wondering), but MSN Hot Gossip’s rundown of the celebratory and celebrity-filled shindig reads like a Who’s Who in Hollywood: Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Kate Beckinsale, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, Eva Longoria, Elton John, and Usher. Oh, and Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Diddy, Kim Porter, and Heidi Klum were there, too. (WTF? What about Seal? Was he snubbed, too?)

Word is there were lots of ballons, streamers, cupcakes, paintball, and a make-your-own sundae station.

Yes, that last line was a joke. You don’t think VB actually consumes cupcakes and sundaes, do you?

Compare that to Brooklyn Beckham, fortunate offspring of David and Victoria Beckham. He blew out candles before the likes of Heidi Klum and Eva Longoria at the chic Pink Taco in Century City, CA.
Impressive. The closest we ever came to birthday celebrity encounters in our 1980s youth were copies of Tiger Beat passed around at slumber parties while arguing over who would marry Tom Cruise and who was most likely to be cast in a future installment of The Karate Kid with Ralph Macchio.

Yeah, we were cool.

We were all caught up in Oscar fever last night, critiquing fashion choices (Heidi Klum’s red dress was da bomb) and presentations (can you believe how freakin’ jittery Katherine Heigl was? We thought it was a ruse . . . but no, she really was that nervous). Then we realized how totally overlooked the sports world by the Academy. So, here’s the Gossip On Sports take on who deserved top honors.

We thought it was a ruse . . . but no, she really was that nervous). Then we realized how totally overlooked the sports world by the Academy. So, here’s the Gossip On Sports take on who deserved top honors.

Best Supporting Actress: Jessica Simpson. Sure, the critics were harsh when Simpson made her debut, but could there be any doubt as to the sincerity of her cheering for Tony Romo? She was oh-so-convincing as a spectator who actually understands football.

*unleashes the grin she was unable to suppress in typing that last part*

Best Supporting Actor: Eli Manning. His breakout role as “star quarterback” was convincing enough to—eyeroll, please—nab him the Super Bowl MVP and a Double Stuff Oreos commercial with big brother Peyton.

Best Actress: Danica Patrick. This is for her performance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She got rave reviews without having to memorize a single line.

Best Actor: This is a two-way tie! The award will be shared by Roger Clemens and Brian McNamee for their uncanny ability to act like jerks.

Best Director: Bill Belichick. A controversial pick, yes, but the guy did produce a season-long drama that consistently sustained tension. Plus, we never pegged him for being the surprise-ending type. Who knew?

Best Picture: Super Bowl XLII. We didn’t like this one at all but it did contain drama, a classic David-and-Goliath theme, and all-around star power. Oh, and we hated the ending . . . but that didn’t stop No Country for Old Men, either.
