I am digressing from my normal DVD reviews to talk about a movie coming soon to theaters everywhere, “Batman: The Dark Knight”.
I am a huge Batman fan but I have to admit when I first heard that they were doing another edition about the Joker vs. Batman I was less than thrilled. Make It A Blockbuster Night…..I Don’t Think So

The other day I was at my resident Blockbuster picking up the newest and hopefully greatest (although not lately) and as I was browsing the candy I overheard something very disturbing. The rewards program is changing. That is right, I said changing. For all those like me that purchased the membership so that you didn’t have to pay the ridiculous rental charges ($4.29 when last checked) get ready to pay those charges when you renew. Does Your Wishlist have an HDTV in it?

Then you are in the majority. A recent survey shows that overall, out of 1200 Americans asked, 35% said that they wanted an HDTV, while the closest thing was a Windows-based laptop coming in at 20%. This doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise as more content providers are pushing their HD content and making current channels HD, like DirecTV is doing in a big way.
The HDTV business will no doubt see a big boost in sales in the coming weeks because of A) Black Friday and B) the Christmas shopping season, so deals will be out there to be found. …read more
Nielsen: Consumers Happy with HD Picture Quality, “Meh…” to Programming

So you like the picture quality on that fancy HDTV of yours? Well, you’re in the majority. Nielsen Media has released the 2007 High Definition survey of theirs, and more than 85% of the people polled thought the picture quality was “excellent” or “above average.” Women were shown to be more happy about the picture quality than men, and men also weren’t so happy with their content selection if they had an HD-DVR.
