I have been struggling with groups in Facebook. Struggling in terms of they are a great idea which were ’struggling’ to work. I was even more disappointed to learn that I could transfer my group to a Facebook page earlier this year. So I was intrigued to see the latest evolving changes to groups which seem to make so much sense

Facebook launched their vanity URL’s at the end of last week and it is reported that
200,000 names were ‘grabbed’ in the first 3 minutes
500,000 names were ‘grabbed’ in the first 15 minutes
1,000,000 names were ‘grabbed’ in the first hour!
3,000,000 names were ‘grabbed’ in the first 12 hours
Wow, the first thing that springs to mind is congratulations to Facebook in coping with that amount of traffic!
