Ryan Moats to Start for the Texans

Steve Slaton began the year as an up-and-coming star for the Houston Texans at running back. But after seven fumbles, Slaton has lost his job to Ryan Moats.
In Week 9 of the 2009 NFL season, Moats will make his first start. Last week, he had 126 rushing yards and a franchise record three rushing touchdowns. Slaton, on the other hand, was benched after yet another fumble.

Texans’ Kris Brown Gets Extension

According to multiple reports out of Houston, the Texans have given Kris Brown an extension that is worth $10 million over four years. The 32-year-old has been the kicker for the Texans since 2002 — the year the Houston Texans came into existence
Out of the $10 million, about one-fourth of the money is guaranteed. The deal makes sense for the Texans because Brown has emerged as one of the better kickers in the NFL.
Last season, Brown connected on 87.9% of his field goal attempts — 29-of-33. The 29 field goals made were the most he’s ever had with the Texans. …read more

Rex Grossman Signs with the Houston Texans

Rex Grossman will sign a one-year contract with the Houston Texans, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. On his Twitter account (@Rosenhaussports), Rosenhaus had this to say:
Rex Grossman will be visiting the Houston Texans tonight. He will be taking a physcial and we anticipate agreeing to terms on a 1 year deal.

Grossman is known as the former starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears who the fans and media pundits loved to hate. Although he took the Bears to the Super Bowl in 2006, Grossman could never gain a firm grip on that starting job.

Alleged Racist Cop Apologizes to Ryan Moats

Robert Powell of Dallas Police Department, the alleged racist cop who delayed Ryan Moats of the Houston Texans from seeing his dying mother-in-law, has issued an apology for his actions. While he first said that he reviewed the tape and didn’t find anything wrong with his actions during the traffic stop, the apology statement was later issued by his lawyers.

Ryan Moats Video – Racist Police?

Ryan Moats of the Houston Texans was recently involved in a unfortunate situation with a Dallas police officer by the name of Robert Powell. You can see video of the incident at the bottom of this entry.
Moats was with his wife and other family members as they were rushing to the hospital to see the wife’s dying mother. With Moats behind the wheel, he rolled through a red light during his rush. Officer Powell pulled Moats over and that’s when the unfortunate incident began.
