Ivey Again? Pro Close to 2nd WSOP Bracelet

The pros generally haven’t fared to well this 2009 WSOP, but a handful are turning heads. Phil Ivey leads that group. Fresh off his Duece to Seven championship, Ivey is now 11 of 79 in Event #13, a pure No Limit Hold’em $2,500 buy-in tournament. The tournament started with 1,088 players but as things draw to an end, it is the dangerous Phil Ivey sitting in a great spot. With every player that gets knocked off, Phil Ivey’s chances of winning multiply whereas other players just outlast the eliminated.

Heads Up Championship Results

Huck Seed is our new Heads Up champion. Seed’s opponents were Jon Little in the first round, Gus Hansen in the second, EPT Championship winner Glen Chorny in the third, and alternate David Oppenheim in the fourth before defeating Sam Farha and Vanessa Rousso to take home the gold… I mean $500k.
In other interesting matchups, Phil Hellmuth dinged Tom “Durrrr” Dwan and Daniel Negreanu toppled Scotty Nguyen. In other Heads Up news, high stakes player David Oppenheim wasn’t even on the guest list but Layne Flack was arrested for DUI prior to the event. Brace yourself for this last nugget.
