The season featured guest appearances from Pamela Anderson and Anna Faris (among others) with whom Hefner, Madison, Marquardt and Wilkinson appeared in the 2008 movie The House Bunny.

It also set the stage for some major transitions.  All three girls have broken up with Hefner and are moving on with their lives (and careers).  Marquardt has already started her own series, Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches, on the Travel Channel and Wilkinson is engaged to be married and is expecting her first child with NFL player, Hank Baskett.  Fans can follow the story of their romance on the new show, Kendra.

Of course, The Girls Next Door, viewers have nothing to worry about – Hefner has already found replacements.  Season 6 will feature Karissa and Kristina Shannon as his new girlfriends.

“The Girls Next Door” Season 5

Second, Hef says that he’s hosting the reception. (No surprise there, he’s got a big enough space for it at “The Mansion.”) He says, “I’m hosting it! We’ll be holding the wedding here in the front yard, and then we’ll be in the backyard.”

Great info, Hef! That clears things up totally.

Next, he showed the world that he had no hard feelings for his replacement in Kendra’s life with Hank Baskett by saying he was a “wonderful guy” (awww) and then reminded the world that they could still see Kendra on her new reality show, which he said, “will be going to air on E! in about 4 weeks, I think.”

Sounds like Hef needs a nap. Nice to hear we’ll still be able to hear that Kendra laugh, tho. In case you haven’t heard it, here is 20 seconds worth. That should keep you satisfied for the whole weekend:

Hefner Weighs in on Hank Baskett

The show follows the lives of Playboy editor-in-chief (and show creator), Hugh Hefner, and his three girlfriends, Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt, and Kendra Wilkinson.  The show is great because it gives you a behind-the-scenes look at some of the big events that take place at the Playboy Mansion, Playboy test shoots and then private functions like birthday parties.  It’s really interesting to see what it’s like to live there!

As you probably heard, things changed in the fifth season of the show with Bridget moving out to film her new series Bridget’s Sexiest Beaches, Kendra getting into a relationship with NFL player, Hank Baskett (they are now engaged to be married this June) and Holly wanting to leave because she wants to get married and have a family. The final moments of the season 5 finale show Karissa and Kristina Shannon taking their place as Hefner’s new girlfriends.

If you’re a fan of the show, you will want to get this DVD set since there will only be one more featuring Holly, Kendra and Bridget.

Kendra tells People that “I’m just really excited to be his wifey and he’s excited to be my hubby – that’s just the way it is.”

Apparently Hank doesn’t even think it’s weird that he and Kendra are going to be wed at her ex-lover (supposedly) Hugh Hefner’s pad? I gotta applaud Hank, he can deal with that Kendra laugh and is comfortable enough in his manhood that getting married at the Playboy Mansion doesn’t bother him at all.

From Girl Next Door to Wifey

For the fifth year in a row ESPN2 filmed a boxing card at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion and there was plenty of beautiful sights to see in between rows. The ESPN announcing team of Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas even commented on the many requests they had for press credentials.

Speaking of Teddy, we’ve really enjoyed the humor in his last few pre-match fight plans but none have delighted him more than the Julio Diaz feature that featured “Hugh Hefner’s youngest girlfriend” Kendra Wilkinson. If you missed it, check out Teddy’s wandering eyes and bad puns below. Btw, don’t listen to Kendra’s prognosticating advice. She’s no Jimmy the Greek. And thank heavens for that!
