I’m sure everyone has now experience the "I’M A PC" commercials that have been running from Microsoft recently. I’m also sure most of us would agree that they’re better, share a better story, and saved a bunch of money compared to the Seinfeld ads they originally premiered.
Tim Heuer shared an image that captures a bit of a bummer of a location to place a "buffering" image over a video that’s trying to load for the campaign.
I tried to find the video and see if the buffering placement was an issue [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

I tried to find the video and see if the buffering placement was an issue for me as well, but mine loaded too quickly I guess. Check out Tim Heuer’s image he shared with the world.

It kind of gives a new meaning to "graphic" placement.

Pretty funny stuff.

After browsing around through the "I’m A PC" advertising campaign website on the Microsoft domain, I found this imagery that I thought was very powerful. To me that’s great advertising creativity.
The idea of Windows vs. Walls
The bias between the dark interior room and the bright, open outdoors is a powerful statement. It may have been too much, but I immediately thought about seeing the always familiar Windows field of grass and blue sky that’s the default desktop image on most Windows installations.

The new Microsoft ads have been out for awhile now and they are a serious improvement over the previous Seinfeld and Gates ads that preceded them.
If I assume that Microsoft’s goal was to reach out and connect with real people to begin with, I’m not sure why they didn’t immediately start with this campaign in the first place. Mixing people we don’t know with people we do and recognize I think is a great strategy.

One of the things that irritates me about most Apple ads, and for the most part Apple users is that they all have this air of exclusivity and higher value than the lowly PC user.

Do you agree?

I’m fine with you having a piece of metal and plastic that you prefer using over another piece of metal and plastic, but it’s just a preference thing. There’s positives and negatives for both camps.

If I think about it more though, there is a bit of exclusiveness to owning an Apple. Most people can’t afford one compared to the cost of a PC.
