Tyler Hansbrough Impressive in Debut

Tyler Hansbrough, who is regarded by many as one of the best players in college basketball history, was able to make his debut for the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. The former North Carolina star was very impressive in his 14 minutes of action.
Going up against the Washington Wizards, Hansbrough had 13 points and five rebounds. He was 3-for-7 from the field and 7-for-10 at the line. The Pacers ended up blowing out the Pacers 102-86.

Taj Gibson Impressive In Bulls Debut

Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls made a good impression in his first professional contest as the Bulls defeated the Indiana Pacers by a final score of 104-95. In the first preseason game for the Bulls, Gibson scored 19 points, pulled down nine rebounds and dished out three assists in 30 minutes.
Gibson, who was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft out of USC, said after the game that he just wants to help out this season.

I don’t know about you, but whenever an NBA rookie sustains an injury during the off-season and/or training camp — it’s usually a serious indication of how the season is going to go. (Can anybody say, Greg Oden?)

Marquis Daniels Signs with the Celtics

Marquis Daniels, who played last season with the Indiana Pacers, has reportedly agreed to join the Boston Celtics. Most media outlets agree that Daniels will sign with the Celtics at a deal starting around $2 million.
With the Pacers last season, Daniels averaged a career-high 13.6 points to go along with 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 31.5 minutes per game. he shot 45.1% from the field and 72.1% from the line.

Billy Packer Will Not Be Missed

My reaction when I first that Billy Packer will be replaced by Clark Kellogg as CBS’ college basketball analyst was shock at first.
After all, Packer has been covering college basketball for CBS and NBC since 1975 and was on board for 34 consecutive Final Fours.
The 68-year-old Packer, who without a doubt was one of the smartest people to ever cover college basketball, he was opinionated and could break down a team or game like no one else in the business.
