The 7-0 Indianapolis Colts are battling the 5-3 Houston Texans this weekend. The Texans have been playing some good football this season and may give the Colts a good run for the money at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Perhaps the biggest opponent for the Colts though is battling their own challenges with injured players. Many people really wondered about the Colts this season with a new head coach in Jim Caldwell and the release of Marvin Harrison from the receiver squad. The bigger challenge though has been injured players. With so many new and young players in the lineup …read more

Edgerrin James, the running back who used to be one of the best players at his position in the NFL, was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. James played in a backup role in Seattle but his production just wasn’t up to par.
In seven games, James had 46 rushes for only 125 yards — or an average of 2.7 yards per rush. He also had three receptions for 19 yards. The 31-year-old didn’t have a touchdown for the Seahawks.
In the offseason, James was let go by the Arizona Cardinals after playing with the Cardinals for four seasons. Before joining …read more

With five weeks of the 2009 NFL season in the books, there are still five teams that are undefeated. Here’s a look at those five teams and which are the cream of the crop.
5. Denver Broncos
Even though the Broncos are 5-0, does anyone truly believe that this team is a Super Bowl contender? Many experts aren’t even believing that Denver will make the playoffs. I guess we’ll see.
4. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have won each of their five games. While nothing is too wrong with their squad, Brett Favre remains a question mark. Can he survive the entire 17 week NFL …read more
Adam Vinatieri Injury Update – Knee Surgery
October 14, 2009 by Stephen Kersey
Adam Vinatieri, the kicker for the Indianapolis Colts, will be out up to two months after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. The surgery was needed to remove a piece of knee cartilage.
Vinatieri, who is considered by many to be the clutchest kicker in the history of the NFL, has only missed three games in his career. This season, he was 6-for-8 on field goals and 17-for-17 on extra points. However, Vinatieri had been complaining about an ailing knee recently, so the kicker and the team decided to get it repaired now instead of waiting.
To replace Vinatieri, the Colts signed Matt Stover. …read more

After the first four weeks, there are five teams that are still undefeated. Here’s a look at the undefeated teams and where they rank.
5. Denver Broncos
Although the Broncos are 4-0, it’s difficult to believe they are for real. Their offense appears to be a lot less potent than last year. Defensively, they have been very good — but will it last?
4. Minnesota Vikings
Brett Favre had an outing to remember on Monday Night Football. The Vikings look like legit Super Bowl contenders. However, whether Favre can last a complete season playing at a high level is unknown.
3. New Orleans Saints
The Saints …read more

Antoine Bethea, a safety for the Indianapolis Colts, has a broken bone in his right hand. The injury forced him to miss Wednesday’s practice and it’s not known when he will return.
The next step for Bathea is to be fitted with a cast. At that point, the Colts will likely let him return to action once he can manage the pain and learn to play with the cast.
The Colts can’t afford to lose Bethea for an extended period of time, especially with Bob Sanders still sidelined. While Sanders is one of the best safeties in the NFL, he missed ten …read more

Who Will be the Colts Running Back?
July 26, 2009 by Stephen Kersey

Not to long ago, the Indianapolis Colts appeared to be healthy in the running back department. Joseph Addai was their up-and-coming running back who helped the team win a championship in his rookie season. However, Addai struggled so much last season that the team doesn’t know what to expect out of him.
In 12 games, Addai ran for only 544 yards last season. Perhaps even more worrisome is the fact that his rushing yards per carry is getting worse and worse. As a rookie it was at 4.8. In 2007 it was at 4.1. Last season, Addai rushed for only 3.5 …read more
