Getting impatient in leveling up your online persona at Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare? Then maybe this news would interest you: there’s going to be a double XP weekend this coming September 13th to 14th. For the uninitiated, this means you get double the number of experience for your solider, making leveling up quicker than usual.

According to Infinity Ward director of communications Robert Bowling (aka Fourzerotwo), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare’s online multiplayer community is 10 million strong. This figure corresponds to the sum of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players. Unfortunately, Bowling made no mention of CoD4’s PC community and its contribution to the overall total.

What makes our shooters look great? More textures and polygons? Yes and yes. But the feature that sets them apart from other smaller details that you may overlook is lighting. Don’t believe me? Boot up F.E.A.R. and try playing the game with low lighting details. You’ll see graphics that scream 1998. Well not exactly 1998 since the textures and models are way more superior, but you get the idea.
