One of the errors I regularly came across during my recent computer issues was an error that occurred when I tried to reinstall programs from scratch.
Microsoft details the problems and error experienced here on their Microsoft Help and Support website.
Basically what happens is that when you try and install he product, the installer can’t find the installation files it needs to finish the installation.

One of the casualties of my recent computer headaches has been the loss
of Windows Live Writer in my available software. For some reason, I
just can’t get the thing to install. If you’ve been reading this site for very long you know I’ve been in love with Windows Live Writer for quite awhile now. I really miss it! Not enjoying having to rely on Word 2007, ScribeFire and WordPress Dashboard to manage all my blogs.
