More Interactive TV from AT&T U-verse

I’ve been a happy subscriber to AT&T’s U-verse service ever since it became available to me in my neighborhood. There have been loads of advantages I’ve enjoyed with U-verse over my previous cable TV service.
Sadlly, there are a few things that I wish U-verse would add to their feature list that currently doesn’t exist. A couple of them are being done by other TV services, yet some are suited perfectly to AT&T U-verse’s IPTV delivery system.

Engadget Gets More Details on IPTV on Xbox 360

Engadget has recently posted some details they have about Microsoft releasing a new version of the Xbox 360 with new hardware and features, including IPTV. Hopefully the following isn’t true:
It still seems a bit unreasonable for Microsoft, which has been bragging about its 10 million strong installed base, to leave those early adopters out in the cold, but if that’s the way it goes down we can’t say we won’t welcome the excuse to ditch the fan and disc drive hullabaloo of our current gen box.

IPTV Coming to Xbox 360

A few sparse details coming out from CES already. These are regarding the Xbox 360 becoming more and more of a living room entertainment portal. That’s right, it’s not just for some video games and music anymore. Soon you’ll be able to get IPTV functionality out of it.
Here’s the sweet and short of it:

existing providers already offering services
easy community discovery and sharing
play a game and DVR in the background
