Halo 3 Suicide: Rube Goldberg Edition

From the first time that I saw a Rube Goldberg drawing or creation I was completely jealous amazed. The ingenuity and complexity is pretty much awe inspiring. Think of Mouse Trap from your childhood and you’ll get the general idea. [Or I guess you could just read the cartoon at the left...]
Anyway, a couple of sites have posted this video and I just couldn’t help myself. The “money shot” starts 30 seconds into the video.
Enjoy!
Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune

I gave into the hype and asked Santa for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
I was not disappointed.
Drake’s Fortune is like playing a character in a movie instead of a character in a game.
The graphics are beautifully rendered; I don’t feel that any of the screenshots do the game graphics justice.
Also, the voice acting is great; all of the characters are believable…definitely a breath of fresh air.
All in all, the environment is utterly engaging. Well, except for the part where I head shot a toucan and it got pissed and flew off.
I would love to give you a full review, but I …read more
The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles

I’m a bit late to the Shivering Isles party. Let’s say fashionably late, OK?
I absolutely LOVE Oblivion. It’s replay value is through the roof and I have to say that I have a special soft spot in my heart for the Mage’s Guild.
I’m the “leader” of all of the guilds, I’ve closed all of the Oblivion Gates. I’ve done it all. Well, I haven’t done it all since I can still wander around and find a cave or settlement that I didn’t know was there.
Back to Shivering Isles.
I finally got my hands on this handy dandy …read more

The October numbers for console sales are out folks.
The Wii is kicking much console ass and is now the top console in the world! That’s right…the world.
360 is holding strong and Sony as a whole is doing good with PS2 and PSP sales…PS3 not so much.
I keep keeping my fingers crossed for the PS3. I think that it’s a superior system to the 360 but the game selection for the PS3 sucks.
Based solely on numbers, I’m starting to worry that my blind devotion to my PS3 is akin to the blind devotion that some parents have for their …read more

Man, oh man.
My weekend is officially screwed.
I have avoided all of the Guitar Hero games like the plague.
I have serious games to play; I don’t have time for frivolous games like Guitar Hero. [cough]
Unfortunately, all of my efforts were for naught. The husband has officially undermined my authority and has brought the damn game home.
Bastard.
The cute little guitar is sitting in the corner right now…mocking me.
Apparently Husband [bastard!] has a “Guitar Hero” party in the works.
What fun!
Five or six twenty-something drunk guys in my living room acting like forty-something drunk rock gods.
Are you feeling sorry for me yet? …read more
Tiny List of Flash Time Wasters

Have you noticed how serious gaming has gotten?
What happened to the days of Bejeweled and time-suck Tetris?
Oh…that’s right…next gen consoles.
Anyway, in honor of those foregone years when times were a bit more simple, I have compiled a far from exhaustive list of highly addictive Flash games.
Because seriously, who doesn’t like to waste an hour [or five] on completely useless games?
Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.

It’s 2007 and me, Patrick, the Ironic Gamer, will continue to serve you. Providing you with lame video game musings and moments is one of my goals for Ironic Gamer this year. So for the first post of 2007, I will let you enjoy a New Year FireWorks performance that was @ Marina Bay, Singapore, on 1st January 2007. Pardon my shaky hands (it’s not easy to hold on a drink, a camera, an umbrella and shrieking “Happy New Year!!” multiple times simultaneously).
Have an Ironic Gaming New Year!
Update: The video is working now. ^0^
