Jake Peavy Makes White Sox Debut

Jake Peavy was finally ready to make his debut for the Chicago White Sox. He was on the disabled list since June 13th when he hurt his right ankle as a member of the San Diego Padres. Peavy’s return to the mound was delayed when his pitching arm was hit by a line drive while pitching in the minor leagues.

White Sox Finally Get Jake Peavy

In May, Jake Peavy blocked a trade that would have sent him from the San Diego Padres to the Chicago White Sox. This time when the White Sox came calling, Peavy decided the timing was right and agreed to the deal.
The former Cy Young Award winner will give the White Sox one of the best starting pitchers in baseball. This season, the 28-year-old from Alabama is 6-6 with a 3.97 ERA. He also has 92 strikeouts and a 1.19 WHIP in 81.2 innings.
