Robert Downey Jr. may have made a major comeback in movies like Iron Man and Tropic Thunder but he also decided to take on The Soloist, a film that definitely tested his more serious acting abilities.
The movie is based on a true story in which Downey plays Los Angeles Times columnist, Steve Lopez, who, after a bicycle accident is injured both physically and emotionally.  He scours the city looking for a news story and ends up discovering Nathaniel Ayers (Jamie Foxx) a brilliant musician who was stricken with schizophrenia in his second year at Julliard.  His struggle with mental illness …read more

At this year’s Grammy Awards, Disney pop star, Miley Cyrus, was turned away when she attempted to meet Radiohead backstage (Kanye West was also denied access).  In the weeks that followed, Miley (and Kanye) spoke out about being snubbed by the British group and Miley went as far as to say that she was going to “ruin” them.  I laughed it off because it is a truly ridiculous statement but she’s a teenager and let’s hope someone had the good sense to talk to her about what she said.
