Cyber DSi Game Grip, No More Free Fall

The economic storm, financial crisis or bad money outlook. Whatever name it takes, there are losses and job cuts everywhere, including the video games industry. Microsoft and Sony have slashed their manpower but the big N reports record profit.

Nintendo made 279.1bn yen for the financial year ending 31st March this year and was optimistic about the video games industry as a whole.

Well, either M, S or N, we gamers will devote ourselves and our $ to all.

Sony PS3 Outsells Wii In April

It’s the wildly popular follow-up to the Gameboy Advance game-Rhythm Tengoku-and is set to hit American soil on April 5th along with Nintendo’s DSi.

And now, apparently Beyonce is getting in on the gaming action.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Beyonce confesses to being a fan of Guitar Hero [who knew?] and that she “make[s] time” for gaming.

No one can deny the “star power” that Beyonce [and her song] brings to the DSi and Rythym Heaven’s US launch and since Rythym Heaven [I keep wanting to type Rythym Nation!] is a very “Japanese” game, maybe the endorsement of sorts will expose a larger market to funky/cool little game.

Then again, I was hooked after watching a couple of Japanese trailers on YouTube.com. Seriosly. Who can’t love the game after watching someone toss some turnips? Love it!

Beyonce Lends Street Cred to Rythym Heaven

The attachment will cost 19,800 yen in Japan, bringing the combined cost of the basic Xbox 360 and the HD-DVD player to 49,600 yen — compared to 59,800 for the basic PlayStation 3 in Japan. The higher-end Xbox plus the HD-DVD player will cost 57,700 yen. Sony has left it up to retailers to set the price for its higher-end PlayStation 3.

Yep, that’s right…yen. Which can only mean it’s going to be released in Japan first. Wonder how long it will take to get state side.
