Are you rooting for Chicago Bear quarterback Jay Cutler this season? I’ll admit that it’s a hard one for me, being a Packer fan and all, but since I’m also a Type 1 diabetic I really have a soft spot for him. Now I’ve found out that rooting for him may just help someone else with diabetes. So root for him I will!
Here are the details: Jay Cutler has teamed up with Lilly, who will donate $1,000 (which is the cost of one camp scholarship for a Type 1 diabetic child), for every touchdown pass he …read more

The biggest trade of the offseason saw Jay Cutler go to the Chicago Bears. Cutler, according to Bears fans, is the savior quarterback that the franchise has lacked for years and years. On Saturday night, Cutler played extremely well and left his fans happy.
In a preseason game against the New York Giants, Cutler was 8-for-13 for 121 yards and one touchdown pass. The touchdown came in the second quarter on a one-yard pass to Desmond Clark. When all the dust cleared, the Bears beat the Giants by a final score of 17-3.
While all of Chicago was happy with Cutler’s performance, …read more

Yay for Lovie Smith and Jay Cutler, who will be dining with our president tonight. Barack Obama is in Chicago at the home of Penny Pritzker and her husband, Bryan Traubert this evening before they all go down to a fundraiser at the Hyatt downtown. Apparently people are donating $15,000 apiece for the fundraiser! Wowsa.
Lovie Smith usually doesn’t get involved in politics, but how could you resist dining with the president? I can’t help wondering if Jay Cutler will throw a few questions about diabetes research the president’s way. Cutler is a Type 1 diabetic, …read more

Although training camp hasn’t even started yet, apparently Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels has seen enough. On Saturday, McDaniels named Kyle Orton as the team’s starting quarterback.
Up until this announcement, Orton had been competing with Chris Simms for the starting quarterback gig. However, McDaniels said he wanted to end the suspense now and provide more of an order heading into traing camp.
That said, McDaniels was also adamant that Simms still has a chance to win the starting role if he outperforms Orton in training camp and the exhibition season.
Orton, who was acquired in the trade that sent Jay Cutler …read more

The big news on Thursday was that the Chicago Bears traded for Jay Cutler. However, that wasn’t the only move the Bears made. Chicago further fortified their offensive attack by signing free agent offensive lineman Orlando Pace.
The contract Pace signed with the Bears is reportedly for three years. The final two teams that he was considering were the Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles. He apparently decided to go with the Bears after word came out that Chicago had landed the coveted quarterback.
Pace was once regarded as one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL. In recent years, Pace has …read more
Jets Need Mangini for Cutler Trade

What’s that they say about burnt bridges? Looks like the Jets will have to walk over a burnt bridge in order to get the help of one Eric Mangini, their former coach who they dumped after this season. Mangini had winning seasons two out of the three seasons he coached the Jets, put apparently in New York that is just not good enough darnit!
But now the Jets will need Mangini to help them get Jay Cutler. Cutler is currently with the Broncos and it appears they won’t give him a new contract. So the Jets want …read more
