Any chance of an appearance in Detroit by the Marquette Golden Eagles went down in flames last night. Remember Dominic James, the physical but tiny point guard who contemplated going pro after his freshmen year, well, he’s now almost assuredly out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken left foot in the first half of the Eagles loss at home to UConn. The senior is averaging almost 12 ppg and over 5 assists/gm, but more importantly, is Marquette’s undeniable floor leader.

Jerel McNeal and Antonio Anderson, both defensive minded senior-to-be guards, recently decided to return to their respective universities.
McNeal says he’s pulling out of NBA Draft
Both players were not expected to be drafted, especially McNeal, a feisty off guard who led the team in scoring (14.9) but doesn’t have a prototypical NBA type frame for a shooting guard (6’3). However McNeal could benefit greatly from a deep run into the NCAA tourney next year alongside another NBA hopeful Dominic James.
