The former late-night talk show host makes the jump to primetime next month with The Jay Leno Show when it premieres on September 14, 2009. I don’t know what to expect, really, but I’m assuming it’s going to be similar to The Tonight Show.

As if that’s not enough star power, Leno has some pretty amazing musical guests for the series opener which will feature performances by Kanye West, Rihanna and Jay-Z.

The show is both a gamble for Leno, who voluntarily quit The Tonight Show only to change his mind too late, as well as NBC who are trying to save money by airing this less-expensive programming in place of an expensive scripted drama in their 10pm slot. Let’s hope the risk pays off.

The new Microsoft ads have been out for awhile now and they are a serious improvement over the previous Seinfeld and Gates ads that preceded them.
If I assume that Microsoft’s goal was to reach out and connect with real people to begin with, I’m not sure why they didn’t immediately start with this campaign in the first place. Mixing people we don’t know with people we do and recognize I think is a great strategy.

The new Microsoft ads have been out for awhile now and they are a serious improvement over the previous Seinfeld and Gates ads that preceded them.

Mixing people we don’t know with people we do and recognize I think is a great strategy.

One of the things that irritates me about most Apple ads, and for the most part Apple users is that they all have this air of exclusivity and higher value than the lowly PC user.

Do you agree?

I’m fine with you having a piece of metal and plastic that you prefer using over another piece of metal and plastic, but it’s just a preference thing. There’s positives and negatives for both camps.

If I think about it more though, there is a bit of exclusiveness to owning an Apple. Most people can’t afford one compared to the cost of a PC.

The video above is the extended version of the 2nd Microsoft advertising campaign with Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates.
Now that we’ve all seen the 2nd commercial in the new Seinfeld/Microsoft advertising campaign and giving our opinions, Microsoft is getting rid of Seinfeld. They’re saying it was all part of the plan at this point, but I along with many other people don’t really believe that for a minute. Do you?
I would really like to understand the real thought behind the ads. I understand the experiencing “normal life” and connecting with “real people”, but were they thinking of more when they [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

As I was enjoying the opening game of the NFL season tonight I got to catch one of the new commercials starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld.
The commercial appeared to me to follow in the footsteps of the TV show “Seinfeld” and was a bunch of nothing.
Did anyone else think this too? I’ve watched it now a couple of times and there’s nothing much in the commercial that makes me excited about Microsoft or its products.
Are these the commercials that were paid for to fight the Apple PC vs. Mac ads?
Are these going to build on each other [...]
Post from: EveryJoe
