In case we were wondering whether Romo was going to try and fit in a round of golf (which I personally wasn’t wondering, were you?), he says jokingly “I play usually about one round of golf a year during the season and it’s usually so bad that it makes me make sure that I don’t play again.” What a jokester.

Now, we’ve heard before that Jessica gets very attached to her men, but this is a little hard to believe. Still, the paper says Romo is embarrassed by her displays and is getting ribbed by his teammates.

Jessica Simpson Phone-Stalking Tony Romo?

I had wondered if Tony Romo would come forward with a shoulder to cry on for Jessica, and according to The Enquirer he has. They even go as far as to say that he “almost cried with her.” Then he supposedly told her she could dial him up anything “no matter what” she may need.

Are we sure he really wanted to dump her? It sounds very much like he might regret that decision.

The next natural question now, of course, is if they’ll get back together. Jessica’s camp says no. What do you think?

Tony Romo Sad About Jessica Simpson’s Dog

Nice that they told her now after she’s had her heart broken, eh?

Apparently, more than one girlfriend has admitted that either Tony tried kissing them or asked them straight out to hook up without telling Jessica. In fact, as many as three pals have told Jess that Tony was too buddy buddy with them in an attempt to get them to hook up with him.

Again, I have to wonder why these friends would tell her this now that she’s broken up with him. Why didn’t someone come forward the very first time this happened? Then perhaps Jess would not have gone on for months dreamily gushing about Tony to every magazine reporter that would listen. Plus, we might have never had to listen to the song, “You’re My Sunday.”

Romo Hit on Jessica Simpson’s Pals

People Magazine says Romo was not only becoming increasingly critical with Jessica, but he was also checking out other women:

“[Tony] wanted her to be a house mom and be in Dallas, and he wants to go out and play – and not just football.”

I really think Jessica is someone that falls head over the heals the minute she meets anyone. She wants to get married and have children, and talks about it openly in every interview. That puts some pressure on a relationship. It isn’t so much the fame that comes with being a pop star or athlete, it’s how you handle keeping your private life private.

I’ve also no doubt that Tony probably was eyeing other girls. He was rumored to be calling his ex-girlfriend a lot, too. He obviously not ready for a serious relationship.

Tony Romo’s Wandering Eye

The timing of this seems odd to me. After all, there were plenty of opportunities to do it before. How about one of the many times Jessica yakked about their relationship to the point where even her die-hard fans were holding hands over their ears? Or the gushing at him during concerts? Or that unfortunate blue frosting incident that happened to get out over the Internet?

So many things… and yet, he chose the day before her birthday to say “C-ya!” Could it be that Jessica wanted a “Ken and Barbie” themed birthday celebration, and perhaps that set him off. Did he just refuse to be seen in a “Ken” outfit???? Then there are those rumors that say he has been chatting up his ex Carrie Underwood the entire time he dated Jessica.

Or perhaps it’s as simple as he realizes he needs to focus on football, because golf ain’t exactly working out for him. He’s got something to prove this year. He needs to win post-season or he’ll be off the radar of “up and coming.” There’s only so much time you can be called “filled with potential.” Eventually you have to show what you’ve got.

Romo Dumps Jessica Simpson on B’day Eve

Shucks.

When asked what his dream date with Jessica would be, the ultra romantic said, “A little bite to eat and probably watch a football game.”

Wow – that’s romance! (Wonder if he makes her watch his highlight reel each week?)

Anywho, then Romo was asked THE BIG QUESTION, the one each and every football fan is dying to learn: Will he do Dancing With the Stars? (Hey, it’s a valid question! Athletes are showing up on that show all over the place.) Romo responded by saying he would “just embarrass” himself.

Oh well… it was worth a shot. But can’t you just see Jessica on that show?

Would Romo Do Dancing With the Stars?

The National Enquirer says, “(She’s) hoping that her birthday gift will lead to marriage, and by this time next year she’ll be walking down the aisle with him.”

Jessica… come close….. can you hear me? When you have to bribe your boyfriend in order to have him buy you an engagement ring, it means he probably doesn’t want to get married.

Jessica Simpson Buys Tony Romo a Speedboat

He said:

“You know, it’s very hard when you lose, because games are important, and so many people put so much time and effort in. It’s nice to have someone to come home to and try and make you feel better… We’re very similar in that we both appreciate the hometown feel to a lot of things, and live our life like that. She comes to a ton of games. She’s a supportive girlfriend.”

It’s nice that he didn’t say, “She comes to a ton of games and that’s why I lose.”

Tony Romo Talks About Jessica Simpson

Trouble is, Tony doesn’t want to marry her because of her hard partying and drinking. Now, Jess has been caught completely buzzed in the past, but is it really so bad that Tony won’t marry her? Or is it something else? (Like her “always there” father and manager Joe, perhaps?)

It’s obvious Jessica’s only concern these days is Tony and getting hitched. She has spaced on lyrics in nearly every single one of her concerts (even more so than usual) and seems to be going on auto pilot until she can talk about, see, or be with Tony.

So what’s your opinion? You think Jess’ drinking is the really the issue here? Or does he perhaps just not want to marry her?
