John Beck Signed by the Ravens

After the 2009 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins released quarterback John Beck. With a number of teams interested in his services, Beck decided to ink with the Baltimore Ravens. Beck, who went to BYU and was the fourth quarterback taken in the 2007 draft, has played in five games in his NFL career.
The Dolphins no longer needed Beck due to having on their roster Chad Pennington and two young quarterbacks — Chad Henne (drafted in 2008) and Pat White (drafted in 2009).
With Baltimore, Beck could possibly win the backup QB gig. He’ll compete with Troy Smith and Todd Bouman …read more

Kyle Boller Joins the St. Louis Rams

The St. Louis Rams have been searching for a backup quarterback. This weekend, they were able to sign Kyle Boller, previously of the Baltimore Ravens. The Rams had previously been trying to sign Gus Frerotte to be Marc Bulger’s backup.

The best year of his career came in 2004 when he had 2,559 yards passing and 13 passing touchdowns to go along with 11 interceptions and a completion percentage of 55.6%. Last year, Boller missed the entire season due to a shoulder …read more

First, you see where Joe Flacco appeared to step out of the end zone — which should have been a safety. In the second video, it appears as if the play clock expires before the Ravens get the snap.
The hard part for the Tennessee Titans to swallow is that either play can be pointed to as a main reason for their 13-10 loss. If Flacco …read more

Favorite For Ravens Starting QB? Troy Smith

Remember him? You know, the Heisman trophy winning QB from The Ohio State University and the last pick in the 5th round of the NFL draft. James Walker of ESPN.com is reporting that Troy Smith is the favorite to win the starting job for the Ravens so far. Not surprising (and I’m not saying this because I’m a Buckeye fan) since Kyle Boller seems to have had his shot and Joe Flacco is a rookie. It is sometimes good to sit out your first season and learn.

Who knows if Smith will start the opener against the Cincinnati Bengals …read more
