Nike Debuts Trainer 1 Shoe

Nike — along with Beijing Olympic Decathalon Gold Medalist Bryan Clay; and NFL players Adrian Peterson, Larry Fitzgerald and Troy Polamalu; and NBA All-Stars Brandon Roy and Amar’e Stoudemire — introduced the Nike Trainer 1 today. The shoe is actually a blast from the past. It’s inspired by the popular Nike Air Trainer worn by Bo Jackson and John McEnroe 20 years ago.

This announcement made me laugh. Not sure why, but probably because I’ve been using Twitter for so long and it’s funny to see the media making such a big deal out of it. What’s the announcement? Jim Courier is going to Twitter during his match against John McEnroe at Turning Stone Resort in Verona, N.Y. He’s going to give fans an inside look into the match. The match will be held on Saturday, May 2nd.
