Josh Smith, the uber athletic forward for the Atlanta Hawks, could potentially get traded this NBA offseason — according to a number of rumblings around the internet. A fan favorite in Atlanta, a Smith trade would undoubtedly anger a majority of Hawks fans.
Why would the Hawks trade Josh Smith? The biggest reason is money. The Hawks could face a luxury tax threshold pinch this summer and trading Smith’s lucrative contract could open up room. Additionally, Smith has had his differences with the coaching staff and has long be regarded as a potential locker room problem.

Hawks Cool Off Heat in Game 7

Welcome, Atlanta, to the second round. Not that long the Hawks were a joke of a team. Now? They have moved on to the second round of the 2009 NBA playoffs after defeating the Miami Heat in Game 7 by a final score of 91-78.
Leading the way for the Hawks was All-Star guard Joe Johnson. In 44 minutes, Johnson had 27 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists.
