As we all know, Ted Kennedy was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. This isn’t the first time that he and his family has had to deal with Cancer – and no, it’s not his parents, or siblings who have battled the disease, it’s his children.
In 1973, when he was just 12 years old, bone cancer was discovered in the right leg of Edward M. Kennedy, Jr. The type of cancer was believed to be very aggressive, and, at that time there were not as many treatment options. His right leg was amputated to combat the disease.

Ted Kennedy’s Family Matters.
In 1958 Edward Moore Kennedy married Virginia Joan Bennett (Joan) in Bronxville, NY. Ted and Joan Kennedy have 3 children together: Kara Anne (Allen), born in 1960; Edward M. Kennedy, Jr., born in 1961; and, Patrick J. Kennedy, born in 1967.
Ted and Joan divorced in 1982.
