March 18, 2009 by Scott Wharton

There has been quite a string of failed drug tests in the past year in MMA. Chris Leben was suspended and fined last year after tests showed illegal steroids in his drug test after his loss to Michael Bisping and Karo Parisyan was also found to have painkillers in his system at UFC 94. Most recently MMA and UFC veteran Ken Shamrock tested positive for three different types of steroids after his win over Ross Clifton and was suspended by the California State Athletics commission.
Despite knowing of consequences of use of banned substances, fighters are still coming up dirty and …read more

Boby Lashley To Fight Ken Shamrock
March 3, 2009 by Scott Wharton

Wow. This should be interesting. Ken Shamrock is beyond his prime and Bobby Lashley is just starting his career in MMA. This is like the generic super-fight or Lesnar Vs. Couture. Ken Shamrock is a strong veteran but not in the same way that Randy Couture. Bobby Lashley, I honestly haven’t seen him fight for more than 47 seconds, but I can imagine that he’s pretty fast and will be looking to send Shamrock out with his hang hanging low. Lashley has a strong wrestling (non-WWE) background and if he can elude Shamrocks strikes and/or submissions he may have a …read more
Ken Shamrock Breaks His Losing Streak By Beating An Overweight And A Lot Less Skilled Fighter

Come on! Is there really reason for Ken Shamrock to celebrate the end of his 5 fight? Ken Shamrock won by an arm bar submission against Ross Clifton on 60 seconds in to the first round of the main event at Wargods: Valentines Eve Massacre. Clifton weighing in at an overweight 350 pounds looks like a turtle on it’s back after catching that right hand from Shamrock. I used to beat on the fat kid down the road back in my day too, but it’s not something I’m proud of. It’s like Mike Tyson boxing Butterbean.

So there are a few rumors floating around right now about some possible fights coming up. A lot of times those rumors prove true and other times they are only, well, rumors. Here are two that are kind of up in the air right now and three that are ready to take place:
Rumors:
Tank Abbott Vs. Ken Shamrock: Ok, neither of these guys are in their prime, but if this does happen will it really be worth watching? I mean Tank Abbott has been over the hill for some time now. He never was a technical fighter and even though …read more
Ken Shamrock…Still Relevant?

Is Ken Shamrock still a relevant MMA fighter? Before I get started let me first say that I’m not picking on Ken and I know I’m not the first person to raise this question, but his track record has fallen greatly in the last three years. He’s lost all 5 of his last fights all in the first round and was scratched from his last main event fight in the last Elite XC fight with Kimbo Slice.
At 44 years old, Shamrock is still in great physical condition. MMA Junkie reports that Ken is set to fight in a co-promoted …read more

Ken Vs. Frank Shamrock Coming April ‘09

Two cocky, trash talking fighters set to beat the hell out of each other. Ken Shamrock and Frank Shamrock will face off on Elite XC…maybe. It will happen. It’s been a signed deal, it’s just a matter of who will pay them more money to hold the event. The fight is set to take place some time in April 2009.
With both fighters past their prime and the fact that neither is getting any younger, it’s about time. Frank Shamrock doesn’t just want this fight on CBS or Showtime. He thinks it warrants a Pay-Per-View event. I’d watch this fight if …read more
Kimbo Slice Earned 500K…And Lost
October 8, 2008 by Scott Wharton

Kimbo Slice earned 500,000 dollars in his loss the other night to Seth Petruzelli. FIVE-HUNDRED-THOUSAND! But get this…Seth Petruzelli, the ladt minute fighter that beat him in 14 seconds…only earned 50K. Kind of ass-backwards if you ask me, but that’s what was in their salary contract before the fight even took place. Granted, 50K is more than most fans that watch Elite XC earn in a year, but I think he should have been awarded a bigger chunk of the change.
What’s funny is that people kept saying that Slice didn’t have a whole lot of cage credibility and if …read more
Seth Petruzelli Did What Shamrock Didn’t
October 4, 2008 by Scott Wharton

So tonight Kimbo Slice/ Ken Shamrock fight didn’t happen. So when Seth Petruzelli, a former Ultimate Fighter, was offered to fight Kimbo Slice, he took it. Petruzelli jumped in there and took on Kimbo Slice after Ken Shamrock "got a cut above his eye during a warm up" and couldn’t fight.
The fight started out as Slice makes his way towards Seth. Seth throws a front kick and a right jab that catches Slice on the left eyebrow as slice tried throwing a punch or two. Slice just couldn’t recover from there. Petruzelli rolls him over for the mount and starts …read more
