Not long ago, Vince Young appeared on track to become an NFL star. Now? A solid preseason showing is undeniably a step in the right direction after the way his career has derailed.
A solid showing is exactly what he showed in the Titans’ preseason finale on Thursday against the Green Bay Packers. Young had a hand in two touchdowns as the Titans won the exhibition game 27-13.
Young finished 7-for-12 for 85 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, the quarterback who played his college football at the University of Texas, Young ran five times for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Kerry Collins: Future Country Songwriter

Kerry Collins, who has bounced around the NFL and is of late the quarterback of the Tennessee Titans, attended the CMT (country music awards) last week. Which makes sense since he wants to be a country music songwriter.
I’ll forgo the jokes that compare Collins’ NFL career to a country song. (Or maybe I won’t.) Collins led the Titans to an awesome season in 2008, but his career has been up and down. He’s had a much-publicized bout with alcohol and has played for half a dozen teams in the NFL. But last week he got to …read more

Jeff Fisher, the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, has made it clear that Kerry Collins is the starting quarterback. For Vince Young to start for the Titans at quarterback, he’d have to beat out Collins during the offseason and during the exhibition season.
Recently, Young upped the ante with his comments to a Baltimore television station. Instead of sounding like a player ready to play his best to win the starting gig, Young sounds more like a player who is ready to give an ultimatum.
Said Young to WMAR-TV in Baltimore: “I definitely want to get back out there playing ball …read more

Jeff Fisher, the head coach of the Tennessee Titans, made it clear that Vince Young won’t simply be given his starting quarterback job back. Instead, Young is going to have to show a commitment to improving and the burden is on him to earn the starting gig back. Until then, Kerry Collins will continue to start at quarterback.
Young has underwhelmed ever since a strong rookie campaign in 2006. In his sophomore season with Tennessee, Young had 17 interceptions to go with only nine touchdown passes. Last year, Young started three games before losing the starting role to Collins. In his …read more
The Tennessee Titans Are For Real

It’s official. At 7 – 0, the Tennessee Titans are the team to beat in the NFL.
They beat a formidable opponent, the Indianapolis Colts, in impressive fashion coming from behind to win the game 31 – 21. I don’t even know where to begin. The defense was solid, the running game was quick and furious thanks to LenDale White, and Kerry Collins looked so calm, cool and collected you’d think he was running drills in practice.
There was doubt that the Titans truly deserved the unbeaten title that the New England Patriots held last season because they had yet …read more
