In 32 minutes, Durant had 30 points, six rebounds and two assists while hitting 10-of-16 shots from the field and 9-of-10 free throw attempts. It was his second straight preseason game in which he scored exactly 30 points.

Against the Heat, Durant got plenty of help — namely from Jeff Green. The Georgetown product had 25 points and three rebunds in 36 minutes of action. Russell Westbrook chipped in with an impressive all around effort of 12 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.

For Miami, Michael Beasley led the way with 24 points, four rebounds and two assists. Playing without the injured Dwyane Wade, the Heat got double digit scoring performances from Daequan Cook, Quentin Richardson, Mario Chalmers and Jermaine O’Neal.

Kevin Durant Goes for 30 as Thunder Win

As a head coach, Cheeks had a combined record of 284-286. After he was fired last season, the Sixers were able to battle back and qualify for the 2009 NBA Playoffs. In the postseason, they gave the Orlando Magic a run for their money in the first round.

Also recently hired as an assistant coach for the Thunder was Rex Kalamian. Kalamian was an assistant coach for the Kings in the last three seasons. He’s also been an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves.

Although the Thunder had a record of 23-59 last season, Oklahoma City appears to have a bright future. Kevin Durant is a stud, Jeff Green is a very good building piece and Russell Westbrook emerged as a good point guard prospect as a rookie last season. As soon as the 2009-10 NBA season, the Thunder could make a push for the playoffs.

Mo Cheeks Takes Coaching Job with Thunder

According to Google Maps the distance from Seattle to Oklahoma City is 2,000 miles, a trip that would take over 24 hours to accomplish. So, it’s not likely these fans, if they received these tickets, would actually attend all the games. Instead, season ticket holders want to receive tickets for free in order to sell them for profit. Not exactly what I thought they would be asking for, but then again, I’ve never been a fan of a team that has relocated.

It seems these fans think it would only be fair that they be compensated in some way for Bennett moving the franchise. And what a better way than make money off the free tickets a judge could award to them. However, this also seems unlikely. I’m not sure what the outcome will be, but I wouldn’t expect every season ticket holder in Seattle to receive free tickets.

Sonics fans want free seats in Oklahoma City

My personal favorite design did not win Uni Watch’s overall design contest, but it did finish first in the ‘Best Tornadic Design’ division. This design had to be the most creative overall, using country music star Toby Keith as the logo.

The funniest design division were those entries that let their thoughts be known on the relocation of the team, like this one.

Not a bad overall contest and I always love looking at as many entries as possible. Yes, even the bad ones.
