NASCAR Unveils New Nationwide Series Car

The drivers and teams got a look at the new Nationwide Series cars for next year Monday on the pavement of Talledega and based on first impressions of the drivers, teams and spectators, the 2010 Nationwide Series is going to be entertaining for all involved. NASCAR rolled out the new Dodge Challenger on Saturday, but Monday they rolled out the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Impala, and Toyota Camry, along with the Dodge Challenger for fans, drivers and teams to take a look at. Kyle Busch Wins the Heluva Good! 200

Kyle Busch won his third straight race in the Camping World Truck Series, during only his fifth race of the Camping World Truck Series, on Saturday during the Heluva Good! 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. He didn’t have the fastest running race truck on the track and barely added enough fuel during a quick splash and dash green flag fuel stop on Lap 172, but he still managed to race to a victory. Kasey Kahne Wins the Pep Boys Auto 500

Kasey Kahne stayed close to the leaders for the majority of the race and when his chance came he passed Kevin Harvick as they raced to the finish line to take the win over Kevin by 1.766 seconds in the Pep Boys Auto 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This win is a watershed moment for Kahne in his Sprint Cup career considering he had back to back 40th position finishes at Michigan and Bristol last year. Kevin Harvick Wins the Degree V12 300

Pole sitter Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran hard and fast for 193 laps of Saturday night’s Degree V12 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway and then surrendered the lead to the No 33 Chevrolet of Kevin Harvick. Earnhardt Jr. had pitted for the last time on Lap 125 and then managed his fuel well enough to make it to Lap 193 but lost pace and ground to the front runners in the process. Kevin Harvick Wins Kroger 250

Kevin Harvick once against returned to the winners circle as he drove the his No. 2 Chevrolet past Kyle Busch and into the front with 10 laps to the finish Monday and then held off his competitors to win the Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway, his fourth victory lap in the Truck Series in his 97th career start. Harvick was able to stay on Busch’s bumper, until he was able to get under him, and then ran the last 186 laps to victory.

Kevin Harvick Wins the Scotts Turf Builder

The fourth try was the charm for Kevin Harvick Saturday in the Nationside Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway as after three wins driving for KHI in 2002, 2003, and 2008, he was finally able to carry the checkered flag around the track. Harvick ran hard and fast for 44 laps in a Chevrolet built by the race team he and his wife built from the ground up to win his first Nationwide Series race, Tony Stewart won twice driving for Harvick and Bobby Labonte once.

Good news for those involved in the Chase. Saturday’s practice times/speeds were faster for most than qualifying. Three of the top six times were the likes of Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson and Greg Biffle – the top three in the Chase standings.
Biffle’s No. 16 car posted the fastest time during the practice round, cutting up the Kansas Speedway at 167.385 MPH. Biffle is tied for second in the Chase standings, along with Johnson, who finished the practice round with a top speed of 166.528. Rating the Race: Centurion Boats at the Glen at Watkins Glen

Kyle Busch made perfect on his efforts to sweep the road course races in the Sprint Cup Series this season as he nabbed his first career victory at Watkins Glen International on Sunday. He led four times for a race high 52 laps, giving him his 8th win of the season and making him the first driver to win the races at both Infineon and Watkins Glen in the same year since his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Tony Stewart, did it back in 2005.
