Detroit Lions Claim Kevin O’Connell

Over the weekend, the New England Patriots released Kevin O’Connell. The backup quarterback apparently didn’t live up to expectation and that forced the Patriots to move on to other quarterback options. On Tuesday, the Detroit Lions jumped at this opportunity.
According to multiple sources, the Lions have claimed O’Connell. After losing all 16 of their games last season, the Lions had the first crack at claiming O’Connell — and they did just that.

Patriots Release Backup QB Kevin O’Connell

The New England Patriots made a surprising move on Sunday when they released backup quarterback Kevin O’Connell. Many experts thought that O’Connell would enter the season as Tom Brady’s backup.
With O’Connell out of the picture, it appears as if Andrew Walter is currently the team’s backup QB. However, there’s a chance that the Patriots could trade for (or sign) a new backup quarterback. One name getting mentioned is AJ Feeley of the Philadelphia Eagles.
