We already know that the very concept behind Castlevania Judgement is abhorrent and nobody likes it. At this point though, we may as well shrug and accept that this is coming. If you still can’t get excited about party times, maybe it’ll cheer you up to hear that Koji Igarashi has revealed some of Castlevania Judgement’s Wii/DS connectivity secrets.

It’s an interview. GameSpy sat down with IGA and asked him thingies. One such thingy:

GameSpy: We’ve heard that DS connectivity will play a role, but we haven’t heard how. Could you elaborate on DS connectivity and what it will do for players?

IGA: When you connect Order of Ecclesia to Judgment you unlock a couple of things. In Order of Ecclesia the level max is 99, but once you connect to Judgment the level max immediately increases to 255. Also, you unlock an item called “Queen of Heart.”

For the Wii version the main character from Order of Ecclesia, Shanoa, is unlocked for all modes. The new character Aeon is also unlocked in every mode except Story Mode. Also, some accessories will be unlocked.

There you go. An excuse to level-grind. You know you were looking for one.

Castlevania: Order Of—Holy Crap, It’s Out Soon

It’s a treat to watch Order of Ecclesia in motion. Every time I think the DS has been pushed to its graphical limit, someone surprises me. See, these are the kinds of surprises my life needs more of. Taking a big swig of milk and then discovering that it’s turned isn’t a cool surprise, but it’s the kind of thing that keeps happening to me.

This bit of video footage shows off some of the bosses in Order of Ecclesia as well as some of the characters. Shanoa can expect to make friends and/or enemies with wise old men, red-eyed vampires and Win Butler from The Arcade Fire.

Castlevania: Order Of Ecclesia Montage Video

““I definitely have a passion for the franchise. I mean, I’m definitely excited to do each iteration of the game — and also my team. A lot of people came to Konami because they’re huge fans of Castlevania. That’s another inspiration to keep on going, and it is a passion, definitely.”

This is good or bad news depending on whether or not you’re starting to tire of the DS’ ever-expanding stable of Castlevania games. On the other hand, I don’t want 2D gaming to die, and if you have to put up with the likes of Charlotte and Johnathan from Portrait of Ruin for me…Well, I’m sorry for your troubles, but I’m riding this horse ’til it falls to pieces under me.
