What a tragic story this is. Nick Adenhart, pitcher for the L.A. Angels, was killed by a “suspected” drunk driver last Thursday. He was only 22 years old.

What makes this one especially difficult to take is that the poor kid just dealt with elbow surgery and worked hard to make it into major league baseball. He was killed just a few hours after he ” made his season debut with his father in the stands, throwing six scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics.”
Two other people were also killed.

We didn’t see this Manny being Manny moment during Friday’s Red Sox-Angels game, but the other half of Team Revision told us about it and NESN enjoyed a laugh over it, too.
Behold, Manny Ramirez (32s) proving yet again that it’s his bat rather than his  Golden Glove caliber of play—oh, we were so close to typing that with a straight face!—that makes him such an asset to the team.

The LA Angels played city rival the LA Dodgers on Saturday and kept Joe Torre’s guys hitless. (It wasn’t technically a no-hitter because the Dodgers didn’t bat in the ninth).
