Who Will Fill in for Larry Johnson?

Larry Johnson has been suspended for using gay slurs and criticizing his head coach. The Kansas City running back has seen plenty of action this season even though he has had minimal success.
In the first seven games of the 2009 NFL season, Johnson has 132 carries for 358 yards. He also has 12 catches for 76 yards. His 2.7 yards per carry and his lack of a touchdown have been disappointing developments for the Chiefs — to say the least.
With Johnson watching the game when Kansas City returns to action in Week 9 after the bye week, who will fill …read more

Larry Johnson No Longer Wants to be Traded

Earlier in the offseason, Larry Johnson said he wanted to be traded. However, it seems as if Johnson has had a change of heart. With the Chiefs bringing in a new general manager and a new coaching staff, the former Pro Bowl running back says he’s happy in Kansas City.
Perhaps one motivation for his change of heart is due to his legal trouble. Larry Johnson pled guilty last week for his involvement in two separate incidents in Kansas City involving nightclubs and women. In one incident he allegedly pushed a woman, while the other incident involved Johnson allegedly pushing a …read more

Larry Johnson: Stay Out of Night Clubs

I don’t know about you, but I am so sick of hearing about these NFL guys that have to be babysat as if they are five years old. Get this probation arrangement for Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson. He is instructed to get out of any Kansas City night club before 9:00 p.m.

One source says he has been charged with two counts of disturbing the peace last week, and another couple counts of assault before that. The last two happened ” against a woman at two Kansas City-area clubs.”
If you or I had some problems …read more

Chiefs’ Larry Johnson Pleads Guilty

Larry Johnson, the starting running back for the Kansas City Chiefs, received 24 months of probation after pleading guilty for his actions in two separate altercations at Kansas City nightclubs. In the altercations, Johnson allegedly spit on a woman in one incident and pushed a woman in the other incident. He was sentenced at Kansas City Municipal Court.
On the NFL football field, Johnson has been a disappointment the last two seasons after two fantastic years in 2005 and 2006. In those two campaigns, Johnson combined for 37 touchdowns and more than 3500 rushing yards. In the last two seasons, the …read more

Will the NFL Cave to the Grandpa Simpson Lobby?

Because anything can be related to something from the Simpsons, immediately upon hearing that the NFL was considering banning long hair, I thought of how that would probably please Grandpa Simpson. “Look at them sideburns! He looks like a girl. Now, Johnny Unitas — there’s a haircut you could set your watch to.” The rule was proposed by the Kansas City Chiefs, whose Larry Johnson once tackled Troy Polamalu by his hair. Why exactly the Chiefs proposed this rule is unclear, but the most significant consequence is expected to be that I will no longer be constantly confused by the …read more
