CBS walking gently into social media

One of my favourite shows this summer is Swingtown. The finale was tonight, and at the end, CBS advertised something I’d never seen before. I don’t know how long this has been happening, but it’s certainly the first time I noticed it.
CBS is offering each episodes’ soundtrack on last.fm. I think this is amazingly cool and a great way to engage the show’s fans. Have you seen any other networks delving into social media like this?
Last.FM preparing to face rights group

Last.fm, a service that almost all of the people I know either use, or have used in the past to find new music. And now they’re facing a cranky international rights group.
Merlin, an international rights group representing about 12,000 members of the independent music community has issued a notice to their membership cautioning them not to accept Last.fm’s program to pay unsigned and independent artists royalties for each time their song is streamed.
