EA Cutting Maxis Jobs

It’s going to be a very dark month for some people at Maxis as EA announces that they are cutting back at the popular gaming studio.
I’m not sure how much of a surprise this announcement really is since back in 2008, it was announced that EA was already planning on cutting jobs since games like Need for Speed: Undercover, Mirror’s Edge and Rock Band 2 had been under preforming.
Then again, with The Sims franchise being the top selling franchise in history, you would think that Maxis would be cushioned from this downsizing.

In These Dark Times of Layoffs
The economy is taking its toll on all industries, all countries. It is like a ripple effect where all points are disturbed sooner or later, if not shook up. It’s my turn now. Again. I completed college and joined a job only a year and a half ago and in this short period, I have survived a couple of layoffs, including this one, but never felt fortunate.
