Miki Saxon, over at Leadership Turn, brought my attention to AnySoldier.com.
This is a site that allows you to make (tax deductible) contributions to purchase care packages for our soldiers. They are missing a lot of essentials as they fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. You may not agree with the war, but that’s no reason to turn away from the brave men and women who serve this country.
In light of the fact that good personal finances includes donating to worthy causes, here is something to consider.

Miki Saxon, over at Leadership Turn, brought a rather interesting article from US News & World Report to my attention. It’s about how yoga can help you manage you money. I like yoga. I do yoga everyday — even if it is just the Sun Salutation sequence in the morning. It centers me. And apparently it can help me center my personal finances.
This is an interesting article that makes some good points. This personal finance philosophy point was one I found especially truthful:

This is an interesting article that makes some good points. This personal finance philosophy point was one I found especially truthful:

Successful money management isn’t necessarily about pinching pennies, she says, but about making sure spending habits are aligned with one’s values.

So often we forget that sometimes counting our money doesn’t really help. After all, without solid, individual spending priorities, and a personal finance philosophy to go with it, chances are we just count the money as it seeps away.

Kay’s finally settling into her role as entrepreneur. She’s enjoyed hearing success stories from others, learning new tips and techniques and gaining advice from this great group of business bloggers at b5. Her days are full and she rarely has time to sift through the volumes of content on the web. So, she asks you: if she only read one post ever on b5’s Business Channel, what would it be? It could be entertaining, informative, witty, snarky… whatever. It can be from ANY blog on the channel – from any date.

I think on this one, I’m going to have to go with this post from Miki Saxon at Leadership Turn on 6 actions that can help your business. It’s from an earlier challenge on business advice. I like it so much that I think that it should be in force for every business. It’s eloquent in its simplicity, and it works in your personal finance life as well!
