Lil Wayne Documentary Allowed to Proceed

Despite the protests of Lil Wayne, a documentary about his life has been given the green light by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge.
The rapper filed for a preliminary injunction this week to block the release QD3
Entertainment’s film The Carter. His argument is that he has not been allowed to approve the contents of the film. Unfortunately, Judge Michael S. Mink denied his request.
The movie, which was chosen as a selection at the Sundance Film Festival, was written and directed by Adam Bhala Lough.
I don’t know about you but I would be absolutely devastated if someone was making a movie about my life and I was blocked from the creative process. I know that some producers might worry that the subject of the film could interfere by removing the “grittier” parts but that’s a risk you have to take. Ultimately, I don’t think that you should be able to make money off of someone else’s story and block them from having a say if they want to be involved. Some of the best documentaries have emerged with the help and input of the person or their close friends and family.
What do you think? Should Lil Wayne be able to protest the release of a documentary about his own life? Heck, there are times when people are able to fight pictures and videos taken of them that they don’t want spreading across the internet (remember when Beyoncé had all the vids of her fall at her concert pulled from YouTube?).

Lil’ Wayne Bloggin’ For ESPN

Seriously … no joke. Rapper Lil’ Wayne has been blogging for ESPN and it’s been really well received.
I must say that I was impressed. Lil’ Wayne is extremely knowledgeable and he writes intelligently. Maybe it’s poor stereotyping on my part, but I expected to see a lot of slang. I was wrong. Lil’ Wayne used the same intelligence and creativity in his writing as he does with his rhymes.
Who would have guess that his favorite football team is the Green Bay Packers?
I gotta give him some props. And I think he’s just found another permanent gig.
Also, the Got Money song with T-Pain is hot!
