14 More Players Invited To US Camp

Eight players have already been selected to participate in the U.S. women’s basketball camp. Fourteen more were invited to participate as well.
While Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, Tamika Catchings, Candace Parker, Sylvia Fowles, Cappie Pondexter, Seimone Augustus and Kara Lawson are guaranteed a spot on the team, the fourteen other players are not. They will have to earn a spot even though they were invited to camp. Coach Geno Auriemma is probably thrilled to have a variety of former UCONN players at his disposal. Lindsay Whalen Reaches 900 Assists

Lindsay Whalen scored 11 points and dished out seven assists last night as the Connecticut Sun toppe the Seattle Storm 64-53.
Connecticut is 12-10 for the season, while Whalen is 900 for career assists. She is the 12th player WNBA history to the 900 benchmark.
Whalen is one of the primier points guards in the WNBA. In her rookie season, she was selected to play in the historic WNBA vs. USA Basketball game held at Radio City Music Hall. She also led Connecticut to the WNBA Finals that same year.
