Rick Pitino Should Revaluate His Priorities
August 31, 2009 by Lyndsey D'Arcangelo

This happens more often than it should — a successful politician who has built a solid reputation based on “moral fortitude and leadership ability” holds himself to a different set of standards and is exposed as a fraud. We’ve come to expect this kind of behavior from politicians. But what about when it happens to a successful coach? What are we supposed to think then?
Rick Pitino’s legacy is at risk. The once revered Louisville coach is now at the center of an extortion plot that has so many twists and turns, and he said she said curve balls, it could …read more
Rick Pitino Isn’t Going To The NBA

Rick Pitino has “been there, done that” as far as the NBA is concerned. Twice actually. Is the third time the charm?
Not at the moment.
Although rumors around the Internet circulated that the Sacramento Kings were in interested in hiring him as a head coach, ESPN.com reported that contact with the Kings was initiated by Pitino’s camp. Sacramento never considered him as it began drafting a list of potential candidates.
But Pitino told Louisville this morning that he had no intention of leaving his current coaching position.
May Sacramento wasn’t interested? Afterall, Pitino’s two NBA stints were with the New York Knicks from …read more
Jonny Flynn Chances The NBA
April 17, 2009 by Lyndsey D'Arcangelo

Jonny Flynn, the quick-footed point guard from Syracuse, has hired an agent. This basically means it’s NBA or bust. Once college players hire an agent officially, they forgo the rest of their college career.
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim wasn’t the least bit surprised. According to ESPN.com he said, “. We hate to lose him, but the opportunity that he has and will take advantage of I think is tremendous. It’s a lot of money and it’s hard to not take. He’s been great for us and we wish him nothing but the best.”
Flynn may be considered a small point guard, but …read more

NFL Draft Prospects
November 20, 2007 by Allison Boyer

Today, Rivals.com released their list of the top 100 NFL prospects for the next draft. I don’t fully agree, but here’s what I think about their top 3 picks:
1. Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas: I think that it’s safe to say that McFadden will go first round if he elects not to come back for his senior year. Remember, McFadden is just a junior. He really is one of the best college players out there, but with Arkansas’ four losses, he’s all but dropped from the Heisman race. The real issue here is this: will McFadden enter the draft or does …read more
Louisville Gets and Apology. Big Freaking Deal
October 22, 2007 by Allison Boyer

The Big East has issued an apology to Louisville due to a bad call that wasn’t reviewable during their game against UConn. I’m sure you’ve heard of the call, which can be seen below in the video. Larry Taylor clearly calls for the fair catch, so the Louisville players stop running. But he then ignores his own call and starts to run, resulting in a touchdown. Fans, players, and couches on both sides were confused.
The officials? They didn’t see it.
Now really, I understand that everyone makes mistakes. But if you’re officiating the game, the fair catch signal is probably the …read more
Upset of the Week: Louisville is PWND
September 23, 2007 by Allison Boyer

I’d image today that Syracuse (players…fans…coaches…the whole damn city) is hungover. I mean, how could you not go to out to celebrate a win like yesterday’s upset over the Cardinals – it was Syracuse’s first win over a ranked team since 2004 and their first win in an away game in the conference in three years. They even ended Louisville’s 20-game home winning streak. And we’re not talking about a lucky last-minute touchdown or field goal to save the day. Louisville, you were pwnd.
The game was a travesty for the Cardinals, starting with a 79-yard touchdown run by Taj Smith …read more
