And The Ultimate Fighter 10 Coaches Are…

We won’t know for sure until next week, but there is some speculation that is might just be the new UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida and former champ Quinton Jackson, whom he’ll be defending his title against at UFC 101.
According to MMAWeekly.com, UFC President Dana White wouldn’t let one word slip as to who would be the next coaches.
UFC president Dana White was asked point blank if the coaches for the tenth season of the show had been picked, and while he was able to confirm they have been chosen, he wouldn’t divulge any names.

UFC 98 Bonuses

With their wins, each of the following fighters won some extra money at last Saturday night’s UFC 98 . A total of $240,000 ($60,000 each) was awarded for “Fight Of the Night”, Knockout Of The Night” and “Submission Of The Night”. Yves Lavigne should have got a bonus for “Despised Official Of The Night” as he was booed every time they announced his name.
Matt Hughes and Matt Serra (whom did not win but got a bonus anyway), walked away with an extra $60k each for their fight which was awarded “Fight Of The Night”, even though many considered it to …read more

UFC 98 Results

UFC 98 Results: Last night’s UFC 98 PPV event was a good event in my opinion. Sometimes things were kind of slow, but that’s what happens when you have fighters trying to out-think the other and wait for them to make the first move. Through out the event they showed3 of the 5 preliminary fights to fill the time.
The first prelim fight they showed was Andre Gusmao vs.  Krzysztof Soszynski .  Krzysztof came out the winner in the first round with a TKO after a ref stoppage. Krzysztof actually knocked Gusmao out cold.

Lyoto Machida Vs. Rashad Evans

Watching the countdown to tonight’s UFC 98 has been very interesting. When you see both Machida and Evans training they are both obviously very fast and dangerous fighters to say the least.
Lyoto Machida often get criticized for his “running away”. I’ve never thought it was “running away” but a great defense. No fighters wants to get hit and/or potentially knocked out. He’s very tactical and often dodges the incoming punches and kicks with great speed and skill. He backs off when being aggressed and waits for his moment to strike. When he does, he unleashes a fury of powerful and …read more

Lyoto Machida Gets His Shot At The Title

MMAMania reports that the final card for UFC 98 has been completed and it looks like Lyota Machida will get his chance to remove the light-heavyweight title from around Rashad Evans waist. Machida made short work of Thiago Silva at UFC 94 knocking him out cold right at the end of round one. Both fighters were undefeated going in to that fight and only one was coming back out with a zero loss record. This was Machida’s first Knock-out win of his professional career.
Rashad Evans took the title from Forrest Griffin at UFC 92 and is also undefeated in …read more

UFC 94 Pay Days

Here are the purses for UFC 94. A much more realistic pay scale, even for an established promotion. Rumors are floating around that the Affliction MMA promotion may be having financial difficulties after their fighters purses for Affliction: Day Of Reckoning was more than what they grossed in ticket sales. No word yet on how much they made in PPV earnings.

UFC 94: GSP Dominates And Machida KO’s Thiago Silva

UFC 94 was an amazing event. Normally I don’t buy very many UFC Pay-Per-Views, but after watching the weigh-ins I couldn’t resist. It was worth every cent.
