Few YouTube comedians make my watchlist while I’m lounging around naked with a pretty girl. Mark Day is one such comedian. That’s why I congratulate Mark on joining the YouTube team as comedy manager. My only regret is that we won’t get to hear as many of his hilarious non sequitur rants anymore.

For the record, the girl likes him too. Apparently, chicks dig the accent.

YouTube Hires Mark Day as Comedy Manager

Sure, it’s not Oprah, but the best person to interview online video stars is someone who’s an online video star in his own right. The first episode of The Bubble Gum Tree Show, Kevin Nalts‘ weekly interview series with online video stars, features Mark Day. They’re both comedians, so this pilot episode is frickin’ hilarious.

Kevin’s done this sort of thing on Metacafe before, but I suspect he’ll do much better on the more popular, community-driven, personality-oriented YouTube. In fact, with more and more talents bubbling up inside online video, I think he’ll exceed his target of fifty interviewees. This series could have second-season potential.
