Button clinches Formula One Championship

Dreams are meant to be lived and Jenson Button has finally achieved the ultimate in Formula One as his fifth place finish in the Brazilian Grand Prix guarantees he’ll be the 2009 Formula One Grand Prix World Champion. They still have a little work to do in Abu Dhabi but Button is fifteen points ahead of his closest competitor Sebastian Vettel and seventeen points in front of his team mate Rubens Barrichello as they head to the last race of the year.

Mark Webber Wins German Grand Prix

Mark Webber won his first career Formula One Grand Prix Sunday as he drove brilliantly and kept his emotions under control no matter what was thrown at him on his way to the to his debut victory at the German Grand Prix on the Nurburgring circuit. This is the first time an Australian racer has won a Formula One Grand Prix competition since Alan Jones won in Las Vegas in 1981. The 2009 Formula One season reaches its midway point tomorrow as Formula One takes to the pavement of The Nurburgring in Germany in the German Grand Prix. It has been a very eventful year in many respects, even though Jenson Button has run away with the first half of the season and currently holds a 23 point lead on his nearest competitor Reubens Barrichello. Sebastian Vettel dominated the qualifying rounds for the British Grand Prix held earlier this week amid the beauty and majesty of the British countryside. Jenson Button did it again! He’s now won six of seven races on the 2009 Formula One calendar as he used cunning, tactics, and amazing timing on Sunday afternoon to steal the lead in the Turkish Grand Prix from Sebastian Vettel after Vettel decided to drive wide through Turn 10, and then never looked back. Jenson managed to run second behind Vettel after a start by Rubens Barrichello that left Barrichello trailing Button.
