First it was the St. Louis Rams canning Scott Linehan. Then, the Oakland Raiders finally fired Lane Kiffin. But, which NFL franchise will be the next to make a coaching change?

The Raiders finally pulled the trigger on Kiffin, firing him after weeks of speculation. Al Davis said he ‘picked the wrong guy’ when he chose Kiffin for the job. Linehan was canned by the Rams after starting the season 0-4. Yet, I have to wonder, who’s next?

Is Marvin Lewis’ job safe in Cincinnati? What about Rod Marinelli in Detroit? Marinelli is actually my choice for the next guy to go. The Lions have finally proved they will fire someone (after Matt Millen was kicked to the curb) and there is no sign of improvement in sight.

The Lions are 0-3 in 2008, losing to three teams with a .500 record. The statistics for the Lions are just as bad as their winless record. Detroit is 26th in total offense (289 yards per game) and dead last in total defense (430 yards allowed per game).

So, it’s not hard to point fingers and speculate about Marinelli’s fate in Detroit. It seems like it’s only a matter of time.

With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them. Let’s start things off with Marvin Lewis.
Marvin Lewis is the head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. He was hired after the release of Dick LeBeau in 2003 and showed up wearing the Super Bowl ring he won as the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.

He is 42-38 as head coach of the Bengals and helped them in 2005 to a 11-5 record, their first winning season and playoff appearance in 15 years. But things have been disappointing since.

Instead of taking steps forward, steps backwards have been made. The Bengals have finished the last two seasons with records of 8-8 and 7-9. And many off the field problems, the 10 arrests in 14 months, have not helped. And we can’t forget the issues with Chad Johnson or the releases of Chris Henry and Odell Thurman being big news this year.

The man did go to Cincinnati and change help turn things around for them for at least a little while. There is a chance that he can do it again. Do you think he can? If he doesn’t at the end of the season, should he still be there?

So what if he had 10 players on his roster get arrested from December 2005 to January 2007. And so what if he has an unhappy wide receiver on his roster. Marvin Lewis does right by the community.

Over the weekend, he had the Marvin Lewis Golf Classic at the Shaker Run Golf Club in Lebanon, Ohio. It’s a celebrity golf tournament and afterwards there is a silent auction. The proceeds go to the Marvin Lewis Community Fund.

What Celebrities attended? Why Ozzie Newsome and James Harris of course. If you have no idea who these guys are they were apart of the Baltimore Ravens front office while Marvin Lewis was there. And what items were auctioned off? Things like a Reggie Bush, John Kitna and Carson Palmer signed jerseys, Pro Bowl tickets and a Tubby Smith-autographed UK basketball? Ok, that last one threw me off. Where was I? Oh right, no Chad Johnson gear? Guess he wasn’t in a giving mood.

The event will contribute to at least 13 college scholarships and support programs for young people in Greater Cincinnati. A good deed indeed, Marvin Lewis. Now let’s keep em coming. No more arrest this year. Not a hard thing to do, right?
