Matt Forte Underwent Knee Surgery

Matt Forte, the starting running back for the Chicago Bears, had a very underwhelming 2009 NFL campaign. With news coming from the Chicago Tribune saying that Forte recently underwent knee surgery for an injury he suffered at the end of September, his struggles are now more understandable.
In his sophomore season, Forte ran for 929 yards and four touchdowns. In his rookie season, Forte ran for 1,238 yards and eight touchdowns. The drop in production from Forte was a big reason why the Bears couldn’t live up to expectations.

Kevin Jones Injured and Out for the Season

Kevin Jones of the Chicago Bears has had a number of major injuries in his NFL career. You can add another one to the list. Jones, as first reported by the National Football Post, will miss the entire 2009 NFL season after tearing ligaments in his left ankle.
After a very good rookie season with the Detroit Lions in 2004, Jones has never been able to live up to the promise he illustrated that year. Last year with the Bears, Jones rush for only 109 yards in 34 attempts.
