Matt Jones Headed to the Tennessee Titans?

For at least the last few seasons, wide receiver has been a position of weakness for the Tennessee Titans. Going into the 2009 NFL season, the Titans are still lacking at wide receiver. However, it appears as if Tennessee will be getting help soon.
Matt Jones, formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars, will reportedly visit the Titans on Thursday. According to Alan Herman, Jones’ agent, a deal with Tennessee could be completed any minute.

Dennis Northcutt on the Trade Market

The Jacksonville Jaguars are giving their wide receiving corps a makeover. They’ve already released Matt Jones and Jerry Porter, while also making it clear that they have no intentions to re-sign free agent Reggie Williams. On Wednesday, news hit the wires that Dennis Northcutt has been place on the trade market.
The news was unveiled by ESPN.com in an exchange with Jerome Stanley, Northcutt’s agent. According to Stanley, the Jaguars intend to trade Northcutt and are trying right now to do so.

Scratch Matt Jones off of your Fantasy Football Wish List

Matt Jones, a fantasy football surprise during the early parts if the 2008 fantasy football season, got busted. Again.
Last year, he got caught with cocaine. This time it isn’t known what exact substance he got busted with but cocaine is probably a good guess.
What’s interesting is that Jones got a slap on the wrist for his cocaine bust last season. At the same time, Pacman Jones is practically kicked out of the league … and Pacman’s actual record is cleaner than Matt Jones. (No relation, by the way.)
