The Falcons got 151 rushing yards and a touchdown from Michael Turner. Matt Ryan struggled a bit, finishing with 289 passing yards to go with one touchdown and three interceptions.

The star wide receivers on both teams shined. Roddy White had 108 yards and a touchdown, while Marques Colston had 85 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints are now 7-0 on the season and look like a Super Bowl contender. The Falcons, who are also in the NFC South, will have to play well in the second half of the 2009 NFL season to earn a spot in the playoffs.

Thankfully, the voters from the Manning Award remembered him. Although Tebow is a fantastic player, will he translate to professional football? Probably not. Ryan, on the other hand, stands to have a long and illustrious career in the NFL, as his QBing style more closely fits what pro ball demands.

The Manning Award is the only quarterback award that considers bowl performance play along with the regular season. A panel of media experts votes, as do Archie, Peyton, and Eli Manning, for whom the award is named. Vote-talliers said that it was close, by Ryan edged out Tebow in the end.

Others up for the award were Erik Ainge, Sam Braford, Colt Brennan, Chase Daniel, Dennis Dixon, Graham Harrell, Patrick White, and Andre Woodson.

Congrats, Matt Ryan!

Rivals.com is holding a fan poll for the Heisman. Personally, I think that it’s too early to get good poll results, but whatever. They also only list five choices, and while these players might be the front runners this week, who knows what will happen this weekend during the games.
But, if you want to log in your vote, head over there now and cast your ballot for Tim Tebow (currently in the lead), Andre Woodson, Mike Hart, Dennis Dixon, or Matt Ryan!
