The boys of Formula One were out on the track at Jerez for the fourth straight day on Saturday and there were a few notable additions to the list of drivers that were looking fast out on the track. 2009 Formula One champion, Jenson button finally got his McLaren race car running a little faster and managed to finish the day at the top of the time sheet. His best time around the track on the day was 1:18:871, just two-tenths of a second ahead of his nearest competitor on the day, Robert Kubica in his Renault.

Four new teams coming onto the Formula One scene means drivers are going to be moving from established teams to compete for these four new teams. It should be pretty easy for the four new teams to find experienced drivers to race but it might be an opportunity for a few young drivers to race in Formula One, if they can catch the eye of one of these teams.
Experienced drivers are going to be the thing the teams are looking for first and they’ll be looking to make the drivers they have in mind an offer they can’t resist. Lotus …read more

The 2009 Formula One season rolled out onto the street of Marina Bay Sunday in the latest round of the Formula One for another barn raising affair that saw the podium filled by racers and teams who aren’t in contention of winning the Formula One World Championship. This time McLaren, Renault and Toyota filled the spots that have gone to other teams and racers for most of the 2009 Formula One season.
Lewis Hamilton had to turn off and then reboot his KERS system in order to interrupt possible problems with the system. Other than this small problem, his car ran …read more

The members of Team McLaren must feel like the sun has finally appeared in the sky above the 2009 Formula One season after they finally made the breakthrough they were looking for in Hungary. They only scored 14 points in the first nine races of the season before heading to Hungary, a total that is no where near the number of points they were expecting to have by this time. They finally made it to the top of the podium in Hungary, after a terrible showing at Silverstone that obviously resulted in them putting their heads together to come to …read more

The difference between competitors was a matter of split seconds from top to the bottom again as Friday’s qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix kicked off and the fastest men on four wheels maneuvered their steeds around the Formula One circuit near Budapest. Keikki Kovalainen displayed the driving skill that made him the winner in this race last year in the first session. The aerodynamic properties of his updated McLaren MP4-24 were the difference in this session. He was able to complete a lap in the fastest time of the session and just edge out Williams Nico Rosberg by stopping …read more

The 2009 Formula One season has been a downslide for BMW Sauber after a 2008 season that saw them challenge for the championship before finishing second best to Ferrari and McLaren. Obviously, this German-Swiss team was hoping for a better result in 2009 after a pretty good run at the title last year and were hoping to take another step forward in their battle for the championship. Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out as planned for BMW Sauber this year, with only eight points, and no sign of improvement in their car viewable around the corner. It might be time for …read more

The flag will drop on the Grand Prix of Shanghai at the Shanghai International Circuit in a week or so, and the drivers and teams have probably been contemplating the winding turns and high-speed straights designed into the amazing architecture of the circuit. The track combines a nice variety of high-speed corners and slow turns that put demands on the grip of the cars, and throws a few wrenches into the mix. The most challenging and enjoyable corners for both the racers and the drivers will probably be turns six and seven, sweeping left and right hand turns. The Shanghai …read more
