LittleBigPlanet Level of the Day: Devil Castle Part 1 – Shifting Moon

This level appears to be heavily inspired by the Castlevania series, as it features a sprawling environment that shifts from dangerous mountain tops, to sub-terranean areas, all the way back up to an incredibly detailed haunted castle. This castle includes all of the prerequisites, including a laboratory, a torture room, and a creepy dining room. Add in a few clever puzzles, and you have one of the best user generated levels I have played so far. It’s long, detailed, and atmospheric. What more could you ask for?

LittleBigPlanet Creator Spotlight: RRR30000

There are a lot of cool people making a lot of great levels on LittleBigPlanet, and we here at the PlayStation Monger want to recognize their efforts. Take RRR30000 for example. This Japanese developer has come up with some of the most creative and complex levels the in the game. From several side-scrolling shooters (Libidius.Jp and SuperLibius.Jp) to a Tetris clone (Libirius.Jp) and even a version of Dance Dance Revolution (LittleDanceRevolution.Jp), RRR30000’s creations are all familiar, yet bizarre at the same time. They also tend to be pretty difficult, thanks in no part to the language barrier created …read more

LittleBigPlanet Level of the Day: Sweet Child O’ Mine

LittleBigPlanet Level of the Day: Sweet Child O’ Mine

What I love most about LittleBigPlanet is that I never know what to expect when I log in. There are so many great, weird, and entertaining levels that have been created by the community that I’m constantly surprised. Take this level for example. There’s not much to it in a gameplay sense, you simply jump on a moving cart and roll through the level. But the amount of patience and talent that went into programming the classic Guns ‘N Roses tune into the level makes it worth at least one play through, or in my case, three or four.
