Chick of the Day: Amanda Seyfried

She’s consistently on all the hottest lists out there and was voted “Sexiest Woman in the World” in 2008 by FHM. Often compared to a young Angelina Jolie, Megan Fox has the full package — sexy lips, smoldering eyes, and a body to die for. Oh… and you gotta love the tattoos.

Don’t cry too hard for the Beckham’s. They did have fun posing together for the ads and they do have a few things to feel good about (such as their unbelievable good looks, beautiful children, and overwhelming wealth.) I think they’ll be fine.

Megan Fox Replaces Victoria Beckham in Ads

Reports are starting to emerge about the possibility that Michael Bay might be getting ready to kill her off in the next installment.  If that’s true, I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Megan Fox compared Bay to Adolf Hitler.

One source said: “Michael’s pretty much discovered Megan and now he’s very quietly looking for her replacement. He hasn’t decided if he’s going to kill her off in the next movie, but he just wants to be prepared.”

Honestly, I wouldn’t mind seeing her replaced.  She doesn’t seem very grateful for the role and there are plenty of young actresses who would kill to take her place.

Megan Fox Being Killed Off “Transformers”?

With all the bad blood between Bay and Megan Fox, my first thought was about her return in the next film but, from what I read, it looks like she and Shia LeBoeuf will be reprising their roles.  The director did have a message for the surly actress, though:  “welcome back… I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production.”

I know that a few people like Revenge of the Fallen but I’m hoping the studio has learned from their mistakes and brings back an actual logical storyline for the third movie.  We’ve got another two years to find out what they are cooking up.

“Transformers 3” Coming in 2011

In the movie, Fox plays Jennifer Check who, of course, is the most popular, most beautiful and most desired cheerleader in her high school.  Naturally, she’s got a Plain Jane for a best friend, Needy (Seyfried), who is less popular and nerdy but loyal.

After a rock band offers Jennifer as a sacrifice at a Satanic ritual (all they want is a record deal), the pretty high school student becomes possessed by a demon and begins picking off the boys at her school one by one.  Basically, she’s a Succubus and if you’ve ever seen that episode of South Park, you’re laughing with me right now.  Anyway… when Needy discovers what is going on, she takes it upon herself to put a stop to Jennifer’s killing spree.

“Jennifer’s Body” Out Tomorrow

She has had clashes with Transformers director, Michael Bay, in the past (she insulted the film and then he said she was “ridiculous”) and things don’t appear to be slowing down since the dark-haired beauty unleashed another stream of harsh comments towards the filmmaker.

“He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward,” Megan said. “He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant.”

“Shia and I almost die when we make a Transformers movie.  He has you do some really insane things that insurance would never let you do.”

I’m guessing Megan Fox is basing this on her extensive experience with other directors in Hollywood.  Oh that’s right – she doesn’t have a ton of experience to speak of so this is just based on her limited knowledge.  I hope she doesn’t trash every director she works with or, eventually, she won’t be getting too many calls, no matter how hot she is.

Megan Fox: Michael Bay is “Like Hitler”

The best Catwoman, in my opinion, was Michelle Pfeiffer since she was obviously beautiful but, more importantly, had the maturity and understated sexiness to pull off the role without seeming ridiculous.  I really hope that, if this is true, Fox doesn’t try to overdo it.  I haven’t really gotten to see her actually act since, in the Transformers movies, she was overshadowed by talking robots so that should be interesting too.

Halle Berry is proof that you can be one of the most attractive women in the world but, if the plot and acting is bad, the looks don’t matter (she even earned a Razzie Award for her crappy performance!) so I hope Fox has made note of that.

Christopher Nolan will be directing the film which is set for a 2011 release.  Christian Bale is reportedly returning as the Caped Cruisader.

What do you think of this casting (if it’s true)?  Put aside your feelings for her level of attractiveness, if you think she’s hot, and think about the role.  Is she really right for this part?

Megan Fox Cast as Catwoman

There’s not a lot known about this film yet except that it was written by Juno scribe, Diablo Cody, and produced by Jason Reitman.  Hopefully, that means that viewers can expect some witty and believable dialogue.

Twentieth Century Fox

Since Megan Fox seems to have gotten a little confident about her place in Hollywood (even her Transformers director, Michael Bay, says he rolls his eyes at the dumb things she says), this will give her a chance to prove that she can do more than run away from giant robots.

I am, however, excited to see Amanda Seyfried (Big Love, Mamma Mia!).  I think that she’s an incredible actress who seems to get better every time I see her.  In the film, she plays the less popular best friend of Fox’s demon-possessed, homicidal cheerleader.  I’m hoping there is going to be some sort of showdown at the end with Seyfried emerging as the winner.

While I’m being cranky, can I just say how old and tired that poster is?  I hope that is an early mock-up and they go with something else.  Since the imagery is most recently associated with the highly popular HBO series, True Blood, I’d assume they wouldn’t want to confuse people.

Anyway, check out this early trailer for the movie.  I hate to admit it but it looks decent enough.  I don’t know if I’m going to line up to see it on opening weekend but I’ll wait for better trailers before I decide.

Megan Fox in Jennifer’s Body – Trailer

Here’s one of my favorites (from the June 2009 issue of Elle): “I’ve lived the life of a 35-year-old since I was 18. I’m so suspicious of boys-slash-men. I just don’t like them or trust them.  They’re boys; they’re easily toyed with. I tell stories and have them eating out of my hand.”  I’m sorry but I just find that terribly arrogant and slightly insulting.

Why have I embarked on this little rant?  I read an interview with Transformers director, Michael Bay, and he commented on something she said recently.  While I agree with her when she says that he focused more on special effects than acting, I didn’t appreciate this little gem: “I mean, I can’t s— on this movie because it did give me a career and open all these doors for me. But I don’t want to blow smoke up people’s a–. People are well aware that this is not a movie about acting.”

In response, Bay had the following to say to the Wall Street Journal:  “Well, that’s Megan Fox for you,” Bay tell the “She says some very ridiculous things because she’s 23 years old and she still has a lot of growing to do.  You roll your eyes when you see statements like that and think, ‘Okay Megan, you can do whatever you want. I got it… Nick Cage wasn’t a big actor when I cast him, nor was Ben Affleck before I put him in Armageddon. Shia LaBeouf wasn’t a big movie star before he did Transformers — and then he exploded. Not to mention Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, from Bad Boys. Nobody in the world knew about Megan Fox until I found her and put her in Transformers.  I like to think that I’ve had some luck in building actors’ careers with my films.”

In case you don’t get the references, this very accomplished director brought movies like The Rock, Armageddon and Bad Boys to the big screen.  I think that every one of those films had decent acting and a good storyline (I won’t comment on Bad Boys II…).

Bay is right – I certainly had never heard of Megan Fox before Transformers and I’m disappointed by her lack of gratitude.  I know the sequel wasn’t as great as expected but that’s no reason to bite the hand that feeds you.  Hopefully, she will learn to be grateful before it’s too late unlike some other young actors (ahem, the cast of The O.C. comes to mind).
